Junior or senior: what to put first
Applying at junior level
Show the systems you worked on and your part in them: calculations, drawings, supervision. HVAC exposure and Revit skills are the first things UAE employers look for at junior level.
Applying at senior level
Lead with design responsibility and project scale — cooling loads, room counts, towers — and with commissioning and handover. Authority approvals and value-engineering savings are worth a bullet each.

What is specific to the UAE
Cooling is the core of mechanical work in the Gulf. Lead with HVAC and chilled-water or district-cooling experience, and give the size of what you designed or commissioned (TR, room count, floors).

Is HVAC experience essential for mechanical engineering jobs in the UAE?
For building-services roles, almost always — cooling is the largest mechanical system in Gulf buildings. Industrial and oil & gas roles are different and ask for rotating equipment or piping instead.
Do I need district cooling experience?
Not always, but many large developments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi use it. If you have worked on energy-transfer stations or district cooling plants, mention it explicitly.
What should a mechanical engineer list under certifications?
Society of Engineers UAE membership (or eligibility), relevant design-software training, and professional memberships such as ASHRAE. Add HSE training for site roles.
