Where to Find Jobs in Dubai: Every Channel Compared

LinkedIn, Bayt, GulfTalent, NaukriGulf, agencies, company sites, Dubai Careers and referrals: what each channel is good for and how to use it.

There is no single place where every Dubai job is advertised. Different employers use different channels, and the best-paid roles are often filled before they reach the big boards. Knowing which channel suits your field — and how to use each one — saves weeks.

This guide compares the main ways to find jobs in Dubai and the wider UAE: what each is good for, who uses it, and how to get results from it.

LinkedIn

Best for: professional and managerial roles in almost every sector; roles at multinationals and in free zones; recruiters.

LinkedIn is the most important channel for white-collar jobs in the UAE. Employers post ads there, and recruiters search it constantly — often before an ad goes live.

How to use it well:

  • Set your location or job preferences to Dubai or the UAE, and turn on "open to work" for recruiters.
  • Make your headline specific: "Quantity Surveyor | MRICS | FIDIC | UAE" beats "Looking for opportunities".
  • Keep your profile consistent with your CV — recruiters check both.
  • Apply with a tailored CV, not only "Easy Apply" with a generic one.

Bayt

Best for: a broad range of roles across the Gulf, from entry level to management; regional employers.

Bayt is one of the largest job sites in the Middle East, and many regional employers post there first. Complete the profile fully, because employers search it, and upload a CV tailored to the kind of role you want.

GulfTalent

Best for: mid-level and senior professionals, especially in engineering, finance, energy and healthcare.

GulfTalent focuses on professional roles across the GCC. Its ads tend to be detailed, which makes it easier to tailor your CV to them.

NaukriGulf

Best for: candidates from India and South Asia; engineering, IT, finance, sales and technical roles.

The Gulf arm of India's largest job site. Many employers who hire from India post there.

Indeed UAE and Dubizzle

Best for: Indeed for a wide mix of roles; Dubizzle for hospitality, retail, admin, drivers and other hourly or entry-level roles.

Both carry many ads from small and medium businesses. Quality varies, so read each ad carefully and be alert to scams (more below).

Recruitment agencies

Best for: specialist and senior roles in finance, engineering, construction, healthcare, education and technology.

Agencies fill a large share of professional roles in the UAE. A good specialist agency knows its market well and will tell you honestly where your profile fits. Private recruitment agencies in the UAE are licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), and — like employers — they must not charge candidates recruitment fees.

How to work with them: contact agencies that specialise in your field, send a CV tailored to the kind of role you want, and be clear about salary expectations, notice period and visa status.

Company career pages

Best for: large employers — airlines, banks, hospitality groups, developers, retailers, healthcare groups.

Many large UAE employers post on their own careers sites before, or instead of, the job boards. Make a list of the twenty employers you most want to work for and check their sites weekly.

Government and semi-government employers

Government entities in Dubai advertise through their own portals and through Dubai Careers, the Dubai Government's recruitment platform; federal and Abu Dhabi entities have their own portals. Note that many government roles are prioritised for UAE nationals under Emiratisation, so read eligibility carefully. Semi-government companies — in utilities, aviation, real estate and investment — hire expatriates widely.

Referrals and networking

Referrals are among the fastest routes into a UAE job. Many employers prefer candidates recommended by staff, and some pay referral bonuses. Useful places to build a network:

  • former colleagues and university alumni already in the UAE;
  • professional associations for your field (engineering, finance, HR, marketing);
  • industry events and conferences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi;
  • LinkedIn, by commenting usefully in your field — not by sending the same message to hundreds of people.

WhatsApp and social media groups

Job groups on WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook share many genuine ads — and many scams. Use them to discover openings, then apply through the company's official channels. Never send money, passport copies or bank details to someone you only know from a group.

Job fairs

Career fairs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are most useful for graduates and for sectors with volume hiring. Bring printed CVs tailored to the companies you plan to visit, and follow up by email within two days.

How to avoid scams on any channel

  • Real employers and licensed agencies don't charge you for a job, a visa or "processing" — UAE labour law forbids it.
  • Be wary of offers without an interview, of salaries far above the market, and of recruiters who only use personal email or WhatsApp.
  • Verify an offer before you accept it. Our guide on verifying a UAE job offer with MOHRE explains how.

The channel matters less than the CV

Whichever channel you use, the same CV sent everywhere performs poorly. Each ad is screened against its own terms, so tailor each application — the same experience, in the ad's words, with your visa status and notice period at the top. Our CV examples by role show what UAE ads ask for in 42 roles, and our 30-day plan for getting a job in Dubai turns all of this into a weekly routine.
